A Mission Born from the Love of Dogs: Empowering Deaf Dogs through Innovation
The journey of CŌ Collars and Dyranomics began with my beloved Border Collie, Molly Brown. As she aged, Molly began to lose her hearing, and I watched her withdraw and lose her place in the pack. It was heartbreaking to witness, knowing there were no accessible or affordable solutions to help her hear again. On the day I put my 16-year-old Molly Brown to sleep, I made her a promise to find a way to preserve dog hearing and help other dogs avoid her own struggles with hearing. There is nothing stronger than such a promise, and it has driven me ever since.
At CO Collars and Dyranomics, we are committed to developing a low-cost and accessible hearing device for dogs, ensuring they live fuller, happier lives. Our mission is fueled by three innovative fundraising initiatives, aiming to raise $500,000 to research and develop the prototype for this canine hearing device:
1. $5 for FIDO Campaign
We aim to unite dog owners across the nation, each contributing just $5. Our motto, "Give $5, Save Lives," encapsulates the essence of this campaign. This collective effort will generate the necessary funds to research and develop the hearing device, demonstrating the power of community in driving change. Every $5 donation at Dyranomics is tax-deductible.
2. Delivery Dogs
In honor of our beloved passed pets, the Delivery Dogs program allows owners to nominate their dogs, creating a legacy that works to raise funds for all living dogs. Each Delivery Dog has a dedicated Den Page, sharing their story and encouraging donations through engaging activities and campaigns. 3. Collar Sales
Every CŌ Collar purchase supports our cause. These unique and cheeky collars not only serve as a symbol of support but also contribute $5 from each collar sale directly to Dyranomics. By wearing these collars, dog owners proudly display their commitment to improving canine health.
CŌ Collars serves as the marketing and fundraising arm of the 501c3 nonprofit Dyranomics, ensuring our mission reaches far and wide. Our vision is a world where, one day, you can take your hearing-impaired dog to your local Costco for a hearing test and be fitted with a hearing device for around $250. Together, through these collective efforts, we are paving the way for accessible and affordable solutions for common canine health issues, starting with hearing loss. Once we solve canine hearing, we will tackle accessible and economical cataract surgery for dogs.
Such a big dream requires a big team of dedicated dog lovers. We are actively seeking passionate individuals to join our board of directors and advisory council, with expertise in canine veterinary care, technology and data, marketing and branding, nonprofit management, and insights from the animal industry. Additionally, we need other committed dog lovers who can help pull off this monumental effort.
